Busy, Busy, Busy!

 I think that Title quote is from the magician on Frosty the Snowman the cartoon.  Between working on the home study, taking a seminary class, going to a marriage retreat, regular church work, and having all four of us come down with colds, things have been pretty full.

We are making good progress with the home study.  Here is where it currently stands.
A: Ohio Application (JFS 01691)  DONE
B: AWAA Contracts & Agreements
DONE
C: Release of Information for Adoption DONE

We are meeting with our social worker today for the third time.  I think we will have one more visit with her after this.  After the things we went through in IL to adopt Janaya, this has been refreshing.  Our social worker opened up our first visit with Scripture reading and prayer!

WoW that is alot of stuff!!!!  One bit at a time will bring you closer to the joyous result!  Glad to hear your social worker/agency is easier to work with then the one in IL.  That can take alot of stess and strain out of the process.

Looks like things are well under way! We'll continue in prayer. What seminary classes are you taking?

You guys are hustling right along!  Way to go!!!!  Keep it up!  I know when I was working on paperwork, sometimes I would really slow down because of discouragement at the seemingly ever-mounting to-do list of paperwork & other documents, etc.  Ugh.  But you guys seem to really be keeping a great pace.  I'm soooo excited for you!  :)

I'm with Jess... wanting to know which seminary class you're taking (Mark is also starting to take some courses at RBS), & I'd also love to hear about the marriage retreat?  What kind?  Was it just the two of you on a getaway, or was it an official marriage retreat with your church or another group?

I received the reference letter yesterday. I'm assuming that I am supposed to send the letter directly to them. Or am I supposed to give it to you? In any case, I will try to get to it on Saturday.

@kygal88 -

I am slowly starting to work my way through Reformed Baptist Seminary. I have taken a pastoral counseling class, and I am just about ready to finish Pastor Sam's eschatology class. Next up is sermon preparation that I have been discussing with an aspirant in our church.

See my reply to Jess re: seminary. The marriage retreat was put on by a church in the area that is in my local pastors fellowship called Grace Partners. Dr. John Street (from Grace Community in CA) spoke five times on "Marriage for the Long Run." It was open to everyone, but Melissa and I were the only ones there from Kemp. Some of our people are interested for next year -- Paul Tripp on child training.

@Beavercreekbirdlady -

The reference letters are probably supposed to go back to Therese McOwen in Findlay. The information should be in the envelope that you received--Melissa and I don't actually see those.

Hey Steve, good job at not procrastinating.  This is a pretty significant thing though so I'm sure it motivates you right along.  We pray for you often in family devotions and will continue to do so.  We are very excited for you and hope things continue to go smoothly.
